El Campello or Campello is a municipality in the Spanish province of Alicante in the Valencian Community with an area of 55 km². El Campello has 27,384 inhabitants (1 January 2016). The municipality of El Campello borders the following municipalities in the province of Alicante: Sant Joan, Mutxamel, Busot, Aigües, Orxeta and Villajoyosa. El Campello is part of the urban area of Alicante.
Originally, agriculture and fishing were the main sources of income for the municipality, but today tourism and the construction industry are the main economic activities of the village. The coastline of the municipality is 23 km long. The beach Playa de Muchavista, which is a continuation of the famous Playa de San Juan of Alicante, is the largest and most famous beach of El Campello. Many urbanizations have been built along this beach. The boulevard of El Campello consists mainly of cafes and apartments.
